I’m Graham Barfield, the Director of Analytics at FantasyPoints. In my career, I have gotten the opportunity to work with some incredible companies and people. Most of you know me from my time at Fantasy Guru or from the NFL Network. But even before all of that, I think I am the youngest contributor to Rotoworld ever and I was one of the first writers at FantasyLabs. At 20-years-old, I came up with a charting process called Yards Created for evaluating college running backs that has become more popular than my wildest expectations.
My entire life has revolved around sports. I was a pitcher in high school and could throw pretty hard for my size, but couldn’t control my off-speed pitches. I used to play a lot of golf -- growing up in North Carolina and Florida was perfect for it -- and I follow the PGA Tour closely. In fact, Joe Dolan, Tom Brolley, and I play in a DraftKings league with some friends and I gamble on golf and play PGA DFS weekly. I’m also a baseball stats nut and still dabble in MLB DFS. I was a finance major in college because I love economics, markets, and math. I have played fantasy sports since I was 11-years-old, but my passion for gambling and DFS really took off in college when I spent all my spare time in my statistics courses building NFL projections in class.
I’ve always had two goals for my career. I’ve never wanted to have a “real job” and I always wanted to own my own business. At FantasyPoints, I get to combine both. Writing, researching, We have the most robust and talented staff that I have ever been a part of and I can not wait for the future. I hope that you will join us.
