Sunday Football
Happy first football Sunday of 2022! This is typically the final week of the regular season, but we get one more week of action for the first time this season. I’m looking at Jalen Hurts (Phi) over 234.5 passing and rushing yards (80 pts) for my first prop this week. Hurts went off with 296/1 passing and 8/38/2 rushing for 29.6 FP the last time he faced Washington just two weeks ago, and Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush combined for 440/5 passing against the Football Team last week. For my second prop, I’m looking at Deebo Samuel (SF) under 4.5 receptions (105 pts) with Trey Lance taking over at quarterback for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers will move to more of a ground-and-pound approach with Lance leading the offense, and San Francisco’s big three receivers will certainly lose some juice. Deebo has still seen 5+ carries and 29+ rushing yards in six straight games, and he could be most involved as a runner in this contest. I’m taking Matthew Stafford (LAR) over 2.5 TDs and INTs (115 pts) for my final prop of the week. He’s in a get-right spot this week after posting season-worsts in YPA (5.3), passing yards (197), and interceptions (3) in Los Angeles’ 30-point performance against the Vikings last week. Joe Burrow shredded this Ravens’ secondary for 525/4 passing and 11.4 YPA, which was the fourth-most passing yards by a quarterback in a single game. Aaron Rodgers went for 268/3 passing against them in Week 15 and there’s no end to the bleeding for the Ravens in sight with Stafford coming to town. Good luck! — Tom Brolley
Week 17 (aka Fantasy Championship week) and another day with some Thrive Fantasy picks. Aaron Rodgers draws another matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, only this time vs. their backup Sean Mannion. There has only been four of Rodgers’ 14 games where he has had 27+ completions, so against a backup I do not think it is going to be needed. I expect Green Bay to use plenty of both Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon in this one. Selecting Aaron Rodgers under 26.5 completions (90 pts) for this. Sticking with the same game, I will also be selecting Justin Jefferson under 1.5 total receiving TD’s (60 pts). Justin Jefferson has only hit above 1.5 total receiving TD’s once all year, so seeing that he is with his backup QB in this game I do not expect his second time all year with 2+ TD’s to be in this matchup. Good luck everyone!
