Week 8 Streaming DSTs

If you are one of those hooligans who streams defenses each week, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll be looking for 50% rostered or less in Yahoo! Leagues.

Cincinnati Bengals (Cin, 17%) @ NYJ

This isn’t the first time this Cincinnati defense has made this list, and it likely won’t be the last. Quietly, they rank 9th in yards allowed and 5th in points allowed. Last week, they held the Baltimore offense to just 17 points while sacking Lamar Jackson 5 times. It’s the fourth time the Bengals D has registered at least 3 sacks in a game this season. It’s also the fourth time they’ve held their opponents under 20 points. This week, they face a Jets offense that ranks dead last in points scored (13.3) and is consequently the #1 team for DST fantasy production. They’ll also be running out either backup QB Mike White or newly-acquired vet Joe Flacco, who will have just 5 days to learn this “offense.”

Philadelphia Eagles (Phi, 6%) @ Det

Talk about a brutal schedule for a defense…the Eagles D has had to try to contain the Cowboys, Chiefs, Buccaneers, and Raiders so far. That’s offenses #1, 2, 3, and 10. Their three games against NOT the best offenses in the league have gone much better. They’ve kept the Falcons, Panthers, and 49ers all under 20 points, and twice finished as a top-5 defense in those matchups. This week, Philly gets the 5th-worst offense in the league. The Lions average 18.3 points per game and have been a top-5 option for opposing DSTs.

Seattle Seahawks (Sea, 11%) vs. Jax

After getting pounded for over 30 points in back-to-back games in Weeks Two and Three, the Seahawks started making some crucial adjustments in both the secondary and D-line. The main one being a move away from Tre Flowers and to a more aggressive CB in D.J. Reed a few weeks ago. Since then, they’ve held a rejuvenated Pittsburgh offense to 23 points and kept New Orleans to just 13 points. Beyond any buy-in that Seattle’s D has gone from awful to decent, they’re playing the 3rd-best option for DST streaming: the good ol’ standby Jaguars. The Jags average just 18 points a game and rookie QB Trevor Lawrence throws about 1.5 INTs per game.
