Thursday Night Football

We’ve made it to the final Thursday Night Football game of the season. I’m both sad that this is the last Thursday game we’ll see this year and also grateful that we’ve made it this far into the season without a game lost. This isn’t the most exciting matchup with the Raiders backsliding coming into the matchup and with the Chargers disappointing this season, but Anthony Lynn will make this game exciting with some boneheaded decisions tonight. This game features the highest total of the week around 52 points, but I’m with the money that’s driving this total down throughout the week. I’ll be looking to fade Keenan Allen (LAC) under 82.5 receiving yards (100 pts) since he could be a bit limited playing through his hamstring injury. He’s fallen below 10 YPR in three out of his last four games and now he might not have the ability to create after the catch because of his hamstring injury. I’m also fading Justin Herbert (LAC) under 290.5 passing yards (105 pts) and under 27.5 completions (90 pts). Obviously, this is tied to the fact that Allen could be limited or out altogether, and it’s looking like Mike Williams is a long shot to play this week. Herbert could still come through against this decimated Raiders secondary, but he’ll have to do it with Jalen Guyton and Tyron Johnson making plays for him. Good luck tonight and enjoy Lynn’s idiotic moves as much as I will! — Tom Brolley

Saturday Games

We’ve had NFL footballs on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays so far this year so it’s time we get some Saturday action this week. I’m expecting Jerry Jeudy’s rookie season struggles to continue against Tre’Davious White and this Bills secondary. Jeudy has caught just 35.3% of his targets (6 of 17) in the last four weeks so I’m looking at Jerry Jeudy (Den) under 4.5 receptions (85 pts). I’m also taking Devin Singletary (Buf) under 50.5 rushing yards (90 pts) as this line appears to be a little too high. OC Brian Daboll has been using a hot-hand approach with his backfield, and Singletary has reached 50+ rushing yards just three times in his last nine games with Zack Moss getting plenty of chances to touch the rock. In today’s nightcap, I’m grabbing D.J. Moore (Car) over 3.5 receptions (70 pts) who is expected to make his return against the Packers. Moore posted 4+ catches and 60+ yards in three straight games before their Week 13 bye and his missed game last week. Good luck and enjoy the Saturday action! — Tom Brolley

Sunday Games

The fantasy playoffs are in full swing this week and T.Y. Hilton is looking to win some fantasy championships with his recent surge in play. Hilton has posted 80+ receiving yards in three straight games after a quiet first three months to the season. I’m taking T.Y. Hilton (Ind) over 61.5 receiving yards against a Texans defense that he’s absolutely owned throughout his career. The Texans killer is averaging 5.4/96.2/.61 receiving per game in 18 career matchups against Houston (playoffs included) after posting 8/110/1 receiving against them in Week 13. I gave out Cam Newton under his sub-200 yard passing mark against a nasty Rams defense last week, and I’m going back to the well with another struggling quarterback this week. I’m taking Sam Darnold (NYJ) under 199.5 passing yards after he averaged 5.1 YPA last week for 132 scoreless yards against the Seahawks. The Rams are allowing a league-low 213.6 passing yards per game to QBs and they just limited Newton to just 119 yards with a pick-six. I also have to give out a prop for this week’s marquee matchup between the Chiefs and the Saints. I’ll take Tyreek Hill (KC) over 77.5 receiving yards with this Kansas City’s passing attack absolutely humming over the last six weeks. Hill has reached 78+ receiving yards in five of his last six games with a whopping 719 receiving yards in that span. Good luck this week with your picks and your fantasy teams! — Tom Brolley

Regardless of your playoff fortunes, it’s always money-making season. Here are a few of my favorites for this week. I like Mark Andrews over 0.5 TD receptions (105 pts) because Jackconville’s safety group is banged up and ineffective. Andrews versus Joe Schobert or these safeties is easy picking in the red zone. I also like Indy riding the rookie so give me Jonathan Taylor over 78.5 rushing yards (110 pts). We’ve got Taylor putting 88 yards on the ground this week. Good luck! — Justin Varnes

Monday Night Football

The season-ending knee injury suffered by Joe Burrow closed out a brutal four-game road stretch for Cincinnati opposed by Baltimore, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and Washington. Prior to meeting his fate on FedExField, Burrow and crew took a 36-10 beating from the Steelers. With these teams meeting once again, this time at Paul Brown Stadium, we have a decent collection of numbers to aid our quest for ThriveFantasy points.

One of the absolute worst QBs across the entire NFL, Ryan Finley ranks 55th out of 55 qualified QBs with a sack rate almost twice as high as the next worst QB:

Finley also ranks last with a 22.8 QB rating:

To really drive home the outlook for Finley, he’ll be protected by an O-line that’s allowed a bottom-five rate of QB pressures (nearly 15/game), and face the defense allowing the lowest completion percentage (56 percent), second-lowest YPA (5.81), and the most QB pressures/game (25). Since Burrow only managed 213 passing yards in Week 10 to Pittsburgh, I’m taking the under on Finley for 183.5 yards through the air (100 points).

I usually avoid props on kickers due to the irregularity at the position. However, I do not think the Bengals will spend much time in the Steelers’ territory. During eight 2020 drives with Finley leading the offense, Cincinnati’s punted on four, and four ended on turnovers. He’s led the offense into enemy territory on drive before throwing an INT. If they do manage a TD or FG, I am counting on it being the only instance in Week 15. That’s why I am taking the under on Austin Seibert for 5.5 total points (110 points).

I do have concerns that Pittsburgh will build a big lead early, run out the clock on the ground. However, the matchup could not get any better for Diontae Johnson. Not only did he go for 116 receiving yards in his last matchup with Cincy, he’s drawn the ire of HC Mike Tomlin for a recent collection of dropped passes. In two games in which the Steelers have won by double-digits, Johnson has averaged 113.5 receiving yards. I’m counting on more of the same in taking the over on Diontae Johnson for 62.5 receiving yards (100 points). Good luck earning those points! — Wes Huber
