Thursday Night Football

No offense to the Texans and Jaguars, but I’m ready to see some big-boy football this week with the Rams traveling to Seattle. I’m going to narrative street for my first pick, Robert Woods (LAR) over 60.5 receiving yards (100 pts). Woods had just an 18-yard catch last week before he racked up 3/30/1 receiving on the final garbage-time drive. He tossed the ball away in disgust after his touchdown catch at the end of the game, and HC Sean McVay said Monday, “We just need to get him some more opportunities and that starts with me.” I’m expecting Matthew Stafford to feed Woods in this game to keep him happy, and the Seahawks have had plenty of coverage busts in the early going. I’m also looking at Chris Carson (Sea) under 88.5 rushing and receiving yards (95 pts). He may not play in this contest because of a neck injury, and he could have his reps limited if he does dress. Carson has played on 45% of the snaps or less the last two games while Alex Collins posted a season-high 10/44/1 rushing in Week 4. Collins could stay in the mix with a quick turnaround this week so I’m taking the under. Good Luck! — Tom Brolley

Last time the Rams and Seattle squared off was the NFL Wild Card last season with a 30-20 Rams win. We are all hoping for an exciting matchup tonight. Tyler Higbee may not be lighting the world on fire this season as the current fantasy football TE15 overall, but he has secured four or five receptions in ¾ games so far this season. Due to the reception consistency, and the potential for a high volume passing game for Matthew Stafford, I am selecting Tyler Higbee over 3.5 total receptions (90 pts). DK Metcalf is one of the most exciting WR’s in the league, and has started this season with two games catching four passes and two games catching six passes total. Although I love the potential for a big day for DK, it is important to note he has caught 10 or more passes only twice in his 36 career games (.055%). I will also be taking DK Metcalf under 9.5 total receptions (75 pts) in this matchup.

Sunday Football

After throwing for three TD’s against the Eagles, Dak took down the former undefeated Panthers last week with four passing TD’s. The Giants are below average so far this season at getting to the QB, which allows Dak to keep this hot streak rolling. I’ll be selecting Dak Prescott over 2.5 total passing TD’s/INT (70 pts) due to those positive notes, but also due to the added INT option to hit this mark seeing he threw one in each of his first two games. Less positives to say so far about Trevor Lawrence, who started off with three passing TD’s in his first game but then threw just one TD each of the next two weeks and zero last week. Now take away one of his pass-catchers in DJ Chark, and add RB James Robinson trending upward in touches and production and that equals me selecting Trevor Lawrence under 1.5 total passing TD’s (125 pts).

Trey Lance will become the last of the first-round quarterbacks to make his first start this season. It will be fascinating to see what HC Kyle Shanahan has cooked up for the mobile rookie signal caller. His tight end, George Kittle, won’t be available for the next three weeks after landing on the injured reserve so I’m looking at Deebo Samuel (SF) over 68.5 receiving yards. Deebo has posted 8+ targets and 5+ catches in every game, and he’s already turned in two different performances of 32+ FP after hanging 8/156/2 receiving last week. The Cardinals are giving up the eighth-most FPG (42.8) to WRs this season, and Samuel hung 8/134 receiving on them in Week 11 last season. I’m looking at another rookie quarterback for my other prop this week, one who wasn’t drafted in the first round. I’m taking Davis Mills (Hou) under 189.5 passing yards going against Bill Belichick, who feasts on rookie quarterbacks. Mills has yet to reach 170+ passing yards after completing a miserable 11/21 passes for 87 yards with four INTs last week against the Bills. New England picked off another rookie Zach Wilson four times earlier this season, and the Patriots are giving up just 202.3 passing yards per game. Good luck! — Tom Brolley

Monday Night Football

This isn’t the most fascinating Monday night contest but I do like a pair of player props in this contest. I’m looking at Michael Pittman (Ind) over 55.5 receiving yards and Marquise Brown (Bal) over 56.5 receiving yards in this contest. Pittman has emerged as Carson Wentz’’s go-to receiver with a 31% target share the last three weeks. He’s turned in 6+ catches, 55+ yards, 8+ targets, and 11+ FP in each of those contests. Hollywood recovered from his drop-filled Week 3 performance with 4/91/1 receiving on five targets against the Broncos last week, which gives him 85+ yards and/or a touchdown in 11 of his last 12 games (postseason included). The Colts are also giving up a generous 15.0 YPR to WRs this season. Good luck! — Tom Brolley
